Pond Park Scrubs Up Well
We were happy to help when Chiltern Community Safety Partnership asked us to get involved with the clean up day planned at Pond Park. This is the press release from Chiltern District Council;
A major clean up of the Pond Park area of Chesham on Saturday (15th March) has been hailed a great success. Over 100 items of unwanted furniture, 50 white goods (fridges, freezers, cookers etc) and 25 defunct televisions and computer monitors were collected by Verdant (Chiltern District Council's refuse collection contractor) from outside homes and disposed of. Graffiti was also removed from fences, walls and bus shelters, helping to smarten the area up.
The event which was organised by Chiltern Community Safety Partnership involved residents, volunteers, Chiltern District Council, Bucks County Council, Thames Valley Police and the Fire and Rescue Service, all joining together to blitz Pond Park.
Also on hand on the day were local Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) giving out crime reduction advice and Councillors answering questions about local issues. The DVLA were also in the area, with the local police, identifying untaxed vehicles.
The purpose of the day was to clear areas that are prone to arson, raise awareness about home security and fire prevention.
