Bracknell in Bloom 2009
Following an audit of the town centre's street furniture which included litter bins, benches, bike racks, railings and planters it was decided that the street scene would benefit from a rationalisation and refreshing of all its street furniture.
A project team was set up with representatives from Bracknell Regeneration Partnership and officers from the council's landscape, highways, street cleansing and corporate property services. A programme of work was identified to remove, repair and replace the street furniture.
The 'community clean' team worked with the probation service to carry out the repairs and painting work including the cleaning and application of protective coating onto our painted subways. The results speak for themselves and the improvements have been key in boosting the town centre's appearance prior to the start of redevelopment. Any redundant furniture will be, where possible, repaired and reused elsewhere.
Community Clean gets a mention on page number 18 of the Bracknell in Bloom 2009 Portfolio (page number 11 of the actual PDF document) for the town centre enhancement work we have done for Bracknell Forest Borough Council. The project included the refurbishment of cycle racks, benches, planters, litter bins and the High Street Entrance Structure to help keep the area looking its best.
Customer Testimonial
"Community Clean have proven time and again that they respond well to a challenge. At Bracknell Forest Council we have looked to them to help us solve a range of issues over the years. Most recently they were tasked with the refurbishment of the very varied artwork in our town centre subways and then re coating them with a protective anti-graffiti coating. They were then asked to repair and repaint planters, litter bins and finally a high level decorative archway all in the busy Town Centre.
The works were completed to a very high standard and with no disruption to shoppers or commercial premises. During the works we were impressed by the organisational arrangements and commitment of the Community Clean team. We got many complimentary comments back about the work and the staff from both the public and the retailers. I know that there were one or two members of the public that were a bit challenging but the staff handled the few instances that there were extremely professionally.
From my experience I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Community Clean as being a very reliable and professional service provider."
