Veolia Environmental Services has teamed up with specialist stain and gum removal company Community Clean, in order to provide a dedicated services in Westminster for the City Council.
The two companies are working together to wash footways, remove chewing gum, and clean monuments and stone and brickwork facades.
Once clean, a special protection solution called Magic Cote is applied, which repels gum and other stains from the streets, as well as algae and grime from monuments. It is designed to be a more efficient and longer-term solution to pavement and monument protection than previous methods, such as hot flushing alone, because it not only helps prevent marks, but also makes future cleansing easier.
