Guildford Friary Station is a large bus depot used by many 24 hours a day and as a result the station had become dirty, dark and needed a overall make over.
The station has now been successfully refurbished and has a much cleaner and brighter look. The work undertaken by Community Clean included a deep clean to the flooring area in the main area, removal of chewing gum and to clean and sanitize the litter bins applying a fragranced deodoriser for freshness.
Grime and dirt around the ceiling area was an issue, but this was removed using an industrial vacuum with trained IPAF operatives. Once cleaned a 3 coat anti-carbonation paint was applied, ensuring that future cleans would be quicker and easier. The outer area of the bus shelter was deep cleaned, the gutters cleared and cleaned and the railings painted with a 3 coat paint system, ensuring durability.
All paint work was previously black which contributed to the dark appearance, having replaced the glazing, a 2 coat paint system was applied in a colour approved by the client to all the railings. The final touch was new polycarbonate glazing to all window areas in the main station.
The refurbishment project has given the station a new lease of life and provided its users with a cleaner and safer public area.
