London Mayor Boris Johnson has recently held a 'Gum Gala' in a bid to rid the capital of the sticky menace in time for the 2012 Olympics.
"I want visitors in 2012 to be welcomed to a sparkling clean capital, not be greeted by the sight of chewing gum blighted streets."
This is where Community Cleans Pavement Restoration service comes in. The key benefit of restoring paving slabs rather than replacing them, is the huge cost saving in labour and materials. As with many of our projects, the initial job is the removal of tenacious chewing gum and cleaning of all the staining. A cleaning and protection restoration project can offer costs savings as high as 90% against replacement!
Once thoroughly cleaned, the enhanced appearance of the slabs is then protected by using Magic Cote Protection Solution. This helps prevent marks and makes future cleansing easier and less costly. In fact, heavy rainfall is often enough to wash away most contaminants making the surface almost self-cleaning!
